PLEASE show FULL EXERCISE NAMES in Workout Builder, Exercise Metrics, and Client Workouts!

Coach Shayla
Longer exercise names are cut off in so many places. It is beyond frustrating, especially when specific variables for an exercise are listed (i.e. single leg, b-stance, etc)
#1 - WORKOUT BUILDER:
Cannot see the full exercise for longer names in the dropdown selections, especially when selecting Alternative Exercises.I can't express how much time this wastes when exercises have similar names and videos, and you end up trying to guess and click on the wrong exercise five times in a row.
📌 If there isn't the ability to add more room or wrap the text, then a simple "tooltip" when hovering over the name would suffice and be perfectly fine. There are tooltips integrated in so many other areas of Everfit already.
#2 - METRICS SCREEN:
Longer exercise names are again cut off, so you're not quite sure what variation you're looking at.#3 - THE CLIENT APP:
Longer exercise names are cut off within the workouts themselves if there are Alternative Exercises available. When the client then clicks on the list of Alternatives, these options are also cut off if they exceed the space allotted.A client would have to 1) select the exercise and then 2) open up the video/info in order to see what the exercise actually is. If they don't want to select that Alternative, they have to return to the list and do this again.
I have had clients message me halfway through a training block, saying "oops I just realize this was supposed to be XYZ variation - the name was cut off and I just assumed it was the regular version!"
I have requested this privately multiple times before, but please please please fix this - I beg. It will add HOURS to my week. 😭

EverFit metrics really need an overhaul—I’ve been requesting this for 3 years. They’re disorganized, making it hard for both in-person and online clients to track progress. We need folders to organize performance and assessments, and the ability to attach a YouTube demo link to each metric would be a game-changer.
Coach Shayla
Louis Coraggio Agreed. 😪

please also make this avaiable also in different languages as soon as you finally update the complete everfitapp in different languages ;)
Louis Coraggio
When will Everfit update metrics?!! All of my metrics need folders and a video link of me explaining certain assessments. I’ve been asking for this for 3 years!! It’s so disappointing to see them neglect metric updates 🤬🤬🤬

Show FULL exercise name in workout builder
Coach Shayla
Currently in the workout builder, longer exercise names are cut off.
There are many exercises that appear "identical" in the list before they are cut off, which usually is hiding their variables.
For example:
- Longer Exercise Name - Wide Stance
- Longer Exercise Name - Narrow Stance w/ Pulse, etc
These all get cut off before seeing the variables at the end.
You have to just guess and click on one, and then open up the exercise to "edit" it in order to see if it was actually the one you wanted.
This also applies to the Alternative Exercise dropdown list.
So having some way of seeing the full name would be SO helpful - whether it's more space or simply a dropdown tooltip when hovering over the name.

Rather than having every exercise start with the words that are the same for every exercise such as “Dumbbell Standing”, rename the exercise so that it starts with the words that are different. This seems to be more of an issue with badly worded exercises.
Coach Shayla
Scott Maw: Actually, this is the most ideal method of naming exercises within a large database when you are trying to optimize for 1) naming consistency and 2) reduce the chance of a team of coaches not being able to find an exercise.
(I've experimented with many different naming conventions over the years, and also consulted with a mentor who has a MASSIVE exercise database - thousands and thousands of exercises - as part of a coaching certification he runs.)
➡ In a database, you always want items to list similar movements together if sorted alphabetically.
Like so:
- Dumbbell Standing Lateral Raise
- Dumbbell Standing Lateral Raise (Alternating)
- Dumbbell Standing Lateral Raise (Single)
Naming them with variables at the beginning would result in these exercises
not listing together
, with many other exercises listing in between:- Alternating Standing Dumbbell Lateral Raise
- Single Standing Dumbbell Lateral Raise
- Standing Dumbbell Lateral Raise
➡ Additionally, the search function within Everfit's metrics screen demands the EXACT name of the exercise as input - it does not pull "pieces" of the exercise name to display an exercise when searching. So it's important to keep a
standard naming convention
to make searching easier for my team vs. having exercises named randomly depending on their variations.Knowing that the exercises always start with EQUIPMENT > EXERCISE NAME > MODALITY maintains consistency.
---
And honestly, this is a moot point because there will inevitably be SOME words that are cut off for longer exercise names, even with switching the order. For a client, this is a mess when looking to select an exercise from the Alternative Exercise list.
Example, a low-touch program giving the client an option to select either Lateral Raises or Front Raises for an exercise slot:
Standing Lateral Rai...se (Dumbbell)
Seated Lateral Raise... (Dumbbell)
Standing Single Late...ral Raise (Dumbbell) ❌
Standing Single Late...ral Raise (Cable) ❌
Standing Front Rai...se (Dumbbell)
Seated Front Raise... (Dumbbell)
Standing Single Fron...t Raise (Dumbbell) ❌
Standing Single Fron...t Raise (Cable) ❌
VS
Dumbbell Standing La...teral Raise ❌
Dumbbell Seated Late...ral Raise
Dumbbell Standing La...teral Raise (Single) ❌
Cable Standing Later...al Raise (Single)
Dumbbell Standing Fr...ont Raise ❌
Dumbbell Seated Fron...t Raise
Dumbbell Standing Fr...ont Raise (Single) ❌
Cable Standing Fron...t Raise (Single)
VS
Dumbbell Standing La...teral Raise
Dumbbell Seated Late...ral Raise
Single Dumbbell Stan...ding Lateral Raise ❌
Single Cable Standin...g Lateral Raise ❌
Dumbbell Standing Fr...ont Raise
Dumbbell Seated Fron...t Raise
Single Dumbbell Stan...ding Front Raise ❌
Single Cable Standin...g Front Raise ❌
All different methods of ordering the pieces of the exercise name, still with multiple instances of exercise names being "similar".
---
There is no reason that the app and the coaching web platform shouldn't be able to display the full name and/or include a hover tooltip, as this is already integrated in many other areas of Everfit. Exercise naming conventions shouldn't need to be shifted around to be in random order.

Coach Shayla : Trying to optimise the data for how it is organised in the database is irrelevant when what you want to achieve is the names of the exercises displaying more clearly in the interface. That organisation of the items in a database becomes even more relevant when you are using the search function to find exercises when building workouts.

I also would like to see this change, as clicking to view the full name of exercise is a bit of a pain.
Coach Chris
This 100%!!! This should be at the top of the list of fixes. I can not express the amount of frustration I have had trying to find the correct exercise because the names are cut off. Not to mention the amount of TIME I have spent doing so.
Coach Chris
Yes! I wish this would be implemented asap! It would make designing workouts much more efficient.
