Do not automatically open or "read" first message in Inbox

Currently, when we open the Inbox screen, the first message is automatically opened and marked as "read".
If you are navigating to the Inbox to message a different client, it is
really
easy to not realize that this has happened and end up missing messages.The inbox should open to a blank screen without automatically opening the first message in the list.

The improvement to the feature has been launched: Keep the first message unopened and marked as unread until the coach interacts with it.

One of my least favorite parts of EverFit that causes my team and I to miss messages is that when we tap on the inbox it automatically takes us to the the top conversation and "reads" it. Almost every time we tap on that, we do not want to acknowledge or read the top as we work from the bottom up.
It also shouldn't mark anything as read at all unless we respond or mark it "Read" ourselves.
With this, it would be incredible to set reminders, timers, or tags with each convo so that we can follow up with clients who ghost us or who we plan to check in on in X amount of days. Really anything here.
But the automatically reading the first convo is extremely infuriating.

I would love to be able to click the chat tab with out it automatically openining/reading the top message! I send my client check in recording via their chat, so sometimes I want to just send it to a client with out reading and responding to another client first!

When on a laptop and you click on Inbox it automatically opens the first message. I assume this means client view says their message was "seen". Ideally I wouldn't want anything to open without me clicking so communication does not appear to be delayed from the client view.

- stop it from scrolling all the way to top as soon as you message someone
-stop it automatically opening messages as soon as you open inbox
- filters for groups/search for key words
- filters for unread messages

agree on this!!! i usually have to find my test client or someone who i know hasn't messaged, and open their message first (from the "all clients" tab, so i can then go into my inbox without reading something i'm not ready to respond to

Alex Marshall: Exact same. I just brought another coach on and I forgot to go over all of the weird little 'tricks' I do to navigate things. And they were accidentally missing a lot of messages because of this.
